For our last free saturday before starting our italian education, we wondered to the Piazza dei Ciompi to find a hoarder's goldmine - the Florentine flea market. A lot of the stalls were closed by the time we arrived, but what was laid out was copious amounts of junk. But really cool junk... because it was Italian junk! From mismatched buttons to old scribbled on postcards to vintage "montature" (frames- which oddly enough looked a lot like my current reading glasses) there's always something to make you feel like you have to have this old useless treasure. Though there was one closed stall that I had a peak in to see some killer old timber furniture. If only shipment to Australia wasn't so expensive...
